Compass Health Center provides Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient programs for patients aged five through adulthood across Illinois, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin. Founded in 2011 by child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrists Dr. David Schreiber and Dr. Claudia Welke, the organization positions itself as the largest provider of non-hospital-based specialized mental health services in its operating regions.
The centre delivers evidence-based treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Clinical care integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention. Both in-person and virtual delivery options are available, allowing patients to receive intensive programming without hospitalization.
Compass Health Center fills a gap between weekly outpatient therapy and inpatient hospitalization, serving patients in acute need whose crises do not warrant emergency department visits. The organization is currently expanding, with a new location in Brookfield, Wisconsin joining its existing network of clinics staffed by psychiatrists, therapists, and mental health professionals.
