Emory Healthcare is the largest healthcare system in Georgia and the most comprehensive academic health system in the state, operating as part of Emory University. The system employs approximately 26,000 people, including more than 3,800 physicians, across 11 hospitals and a network of clinics and specialised treatment centres in Atlanta and elsewhere in Georgia.
Its care is organised through the Emory Healthcare Network, established in 2011 and the largest academically based clinically integrated network in the region, which brings hospitals and clinics into a single coordinated system. Emory Healthcare maintains centres of excellence in cancer, heart and vascular care, brain health, transplantation and orthopedics, covering more than 50 specialty areas in total.
As an academic health system, Emory Healthcare combines clinical practice with research and medical innovation, with technical strengths spanning oncology, cardiovascular care, brain health, transplantation, orthopedics and clinical integration. The system also serves as the official team healthcare provider for Georgia Tech athletics.
