James River Home Health and Hospice provides physician-directed home health and hospice care to families across Virginia. Founded in 2013, the organisation employs roughly 320 healthcare professionals and operates seven offices throughout the state. Its services are ACHC-accredited and are delivered in patients' own residences rather than in institutional settings.
The home health side covers skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social work and spiritual support, oriented towards recovery and rehabilitation under individualised care plans. These services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The hospice programme concentrates on comfort-focused end-of-life care at home, with education, emotional support and resource navigation extending to the patient's family as well as the patient.
Clinicians work alongside physicians, hospitals and families, and the organisation states a commitment to treating patients with dignity and respect. Care is planned on an individual basis, and the company emphasises its local focus within Virginia communities. It has served thousands of patients since its founding in 2013.
