Founded in 2017, the company operates a virtual gastroenterology practice structured around multidisciplinary care. The service brings together gastroenterologists, registered dietitians, and gut-brain psychologists in a coordinated model designed to address underlying causes rather than manage symptoms in isolation. The virtual clinic launched in 2020 and is now available as an in-network provider to over 20 million people through partnerships with major health plans, employers, and health systems.
The company has raised $59.5 million in venture funding from investors including CVS Health, the venture arms of pharma firm Koch Industries and Japanese pharmaceutical company Koch, and others. Its clinical data indicates that 92 per cent of patients experience relief within ten weeks, whilst 88 per cent of previously undiagnosed patients receive a clear diagnosis within three months. Patient satisfaction stands at 98 per cent, and the company claims its model reduces all-cause medical costs by $10,292 per patient over six months.
