Description
The Diabetes Educator RN performs clinical support duties for physicians/N.P./P.A. in medical practice setting. Provides diabetes education to ensure patients understand the instructions provided by their endocrinologist to maintain safe and accurate care.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have current CPR certification.
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of established standards for patient care.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills towards diverse patient population.
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrates leadership skills, decision making skills, and ability to problem solve.
- Demonstrates knowledge of infection control standards and EOC standards.

- Must abide by HIPAA law and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Electronic Medical Records.
- Knowledge in operations of basic medical and emergency equipment.
- Pleasant, caring and professional personality.
- Availability and flexibility to work at remote sites.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required
- 2- 3 years of experience in medical practice or clinic setting; experience in diabetes education highly preferred.
- Current unrestricted licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland.
- Certified Diabetes Educator preferred or eligible within 2 years of hire and must obtain.
- BSN strongly preferred.
Hours: Part time, three days a week. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, 7:30-4 or 8:30-5.

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. If position is part-time, salary will be pro-rated based on scheduled hours. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid, if applicable.
Hourly Range: $30.26-$43.20
