Role Description:

The Manager, Clinical Compliance is responsible for the review, interpretation, and implementation of clinical, regulatory and state practice requirements related to the Board of Nursing, Board of Pharmacy, State Health Departments, and other bodies. The scope of regulations are specific to nursing and unlicensed personnel. This role will serve as the lead functional contact for CVS Health compliance-related alerts and updates. Additionally, this role is responsible for developing and implementing medication safety and administration standards related in-center medications, vaccines, and standing orders. 

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with key stakeholders, review current policies and procedures, to identify possible gaps in regulatory clinical compliance, then collaborate cross-functionally to close the gaps.
  • Identifies and develops regulatory clinical compliance training specific to federal, state, and local regulations, in partnership with the Learning team.
  • Serves as a source for operational and clinical leadership on compliance policies and related matters, including scope of practice delineation, and impact on various business initiatives.
  • Creates clinical compliance audit structures, performs audits, reviews audit findings, and develops implementation plans. Works with VP, Clinical support and key partners to develop mitigation plans for centers, cascading implementation plans across all centers and incorporating new workflows into new or existing SOPs.
  • Serves as the OSH clinical point-of-contact for centers receiving on-site regulatory audits or surveys (including health departments, Board of Pharmacy). Responsible for notifying CVS, tracking and documenting all surveys and needed action items.
  • Partners closely with CVS to identify and interpret Board of Pharmacy regulations requirements for OSH when entering new states.
  • Responsible for ensuring OSHA regulatory compliance across centers
    • Emergency Action Plan (EAP)

  • In partnership with CVS, reviews and analyzes current and proposed laws, mandates, and regulations that may impact nursing and care team roles and provides practice solutions and actionable guidance to cross-functional teams.
  • Responsible for building mechanisms to monitor adherence to practice for updated laws, mandates, and regulations
  • Responsible for operational execution of in-center medication management strategy including medication administration and safety SOPs, reviewing in-clinic medication formulary, and in-center medication documentation, in partnership with Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee.
  • Responsible for building and executing strategy around vaccine operations; supports centers in mitigating vaccine excursions
  • Supports development and ensures medical leader approval for standing orders for care model efficiency
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to Oak Street Health markets
  • Other duties as assigned

 

What are we looking for?

  • Demonstrated experience in driving clinical compliance in regulated or accredited environments, including The Joint Commission or other accrediting bodies.
  • Bachelor degree in nursing required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years nursing experience.
  • 3 years management experience preferred.
  • Somebody who embodies being “Oaky” (see below).
  • Ability to interpret regulatory mandates and integrate into core operational procedures.
  • Ability to independently manage and lead projects in a timely manner with minimal supervision, and ability to prioritize and effectively navigate multiple competing priorities.
  • Skilled in content development / collateral including deck creation, training materials, job aids, and SOPs
  • Able to develop and drive execution on multiple projects / project plans simultaneously
  • Demonstrated skill in problem solving, critical thinking, conflict resolution, and exceptional communication skills.
  • A flexible and positive attitude, and a strong desire to change the traditional primary care paradigm.
  • High emotional intelligence as evidenced by ability to evaluate/perceive a situation from multiple lenses and understand various perspectives in coming to problem resolution.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

 

$66,575.00 – $142,576.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
