Amberwell Health is a healthcare system in northeast Kansas that connects and supports two independently governed, critically accessible hospitals - Amberwell Atchison and Amberwell Hiawatha - along with five additional clinic locations. Amberwell Atchison has served patients since 1912, and Amberwell Hiawatha since 1951; the system's stated mission is to sustain and strengthen rural healthcare organisations and to keep high-quality care close to home for the families in the communities it serves.
The system employs more than 360 staff and works with over 40 physicians and advanced practice providers. Clinical services span inpatient care, emergency care, surgical services, orthopedic care, maternal care and home health, delivered across the two critical access hospitals, the clinic network and patients' homes. Locations include Atchison, Kansas, and Hiawatha, Kansas.
Both hospitals are locally owned and governed, and Amberwell Health describes itself as community-owned, with deep local roots and a long-standing role as a trusted health partner in the region. The organisation states commitments to clinical excellence and compassionate patient care as core to its work.
