CCHCS Cook Children's Health Care System is one of the largest freestanding pediatric health care systems in the United States, operating as a not-for-profit organisation since its founding in 1918 as the Fort Worth Free Baby Hospital. The system has expanded from its original 30-bed facility to encompass more than 60 primary, specialty and urgent care locations throughout Texas, with flagship medical centres in Fort Worth and Prosper.
The health care system manages over one million patient encounters annually across a diversified portfolio of operations. These include acute care facilities, a physician network, home health services, surgery centres, a health plan, and a health foundation. This integrated structure enables Cook Children's to deliver paediatric care across the continuum of services to children and families throughout Texas.
As a not-for-profit, Cook Children's operates with a mission centred on child welfare and community benefit. The organisation combines clinical expertise with healthcare technology and operational infrastructure to support nurses and clinical staff in delivering care across its network of facilities and services.
