United Health Services (UHS) is a not-for-profit healthcare system and the largest private employer in the Greater Binghamton, New York region. Founded in 1981, the locally owned organization operates four hospitals and more than 60 locations across six counties in the Southern Tier of upstate New York and portions of Northeast Pennsylvania. It serves approximately 600,000 residents.
The system employs over 7,000 staff and works with a medical staff of over 650 providers. UHS Medical Group has more than 570 members. The organization's total economic impact exceeds $1.79 billion annually.
UHS provides comprehensive healthcare services, ranging from primary care to advanced specialties such as cancer treatment, heart and vascular services, behavioral health, neurosciences, gastroenterology, and orthopedics. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors composed of residents from the communities it serves.
